Hello, my friends. Despite the emotionally-overwhelming darkness that our world is still trying to cast upon us within 2026, there’s still a hopeful light that we must strive for in order to shine it upon the globe’s perpetuating evils. I also aim to give you that kind of relief upon the world through my various comic book-based reviews. As we slowly make our way from the intense summer heat to the chilling winter cold, allow me to share my plans for what I intend to cover for the second half of the year.
July has traditionally brought a sense of love for the red, white & blue from both good and bad intentions. Within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, those colors will be cast upon a certain man who’ll find an unlikely way to serve his country along with him eventually becoming the final key figure for a modern day team. As for the kinds of adventures that the “star-spangled man with a plan” will embark on within both a tie-in series as well as his own adaptation, his fights upon my critical battlefield will take shape as we delve into the tie-in material to “Captain America: The First Avenger”.
August sees us returning to the DC Extended Universe in order for us to tackle a single tie-in comic, which happens to take place before the events of the film that it’s connected to. As for the harrowing event that led to Harley Quinn winding up within Belle Reve before she ultimately wound up getting recruited onto Task Force X, we’ll be taking a wild ride with her and “Mr. J” in order to understand how this event stacks up after a decade. As such, I’ll be looking forward to hammering my critical feelings upon a singular periodical called “Suicide Squad: Suicide Blonde”.
September finally brings us to our annual comic book retrospective at a time when a certain Superman TV show will also be celebrating a milestone anniversary. As for what Kal-El/Clark Kent and his friends will be exploring within the initial series along with well after the program concluded its decade-long small-screen run, it’ll be quite a journey for us to explore. Grab a cup of coffee from your favorite local shop, since we’ll be tackling a two-part look into all of the comics focused on “Smallville”.
October brings about the chilling Halloween winds along with its looming full moon. With that in mind, it’s a perfect time to revisit a certain universe that’s home to a heroic werewolf. However, we’ll actually be focusing on Rodney’s female partner/mentor since she’s been around for a long time and has her own adventure that’s worth bringing to life. On that note, I’ll be on the critical prowl as I tackle the four-part spinoff mini-series that’s all about “Snow Paw”. As for what I’ll cover for All Hallow’s Eve, we be continuing our run of anthologies that brings the cape-and-cowl up against the various spooks that their world has to offer. With that in mind, we be covering the “DC Universe Halloween Special 2009”.
November will see us celebrating four decades of a landmark mini-series by covering its animated adaptation. When a certain superhero gets mysteriously murdered, it’ll bring his colleagues into an investigation that will send them down an unexpected rabbit hole towards a scale of massive proportions. In terms of how those series of events get set into motion, we be setting our critical owl-like eyes upon a particular movie called “Watchmen: Chapter I”.
December closes this year out with the second half of a massive murder mystery getting looked at by the slayed hero’s closest allies. What they’ll ultimately discover as well as the large-scale conspiracy plot that’s about to be unleashed upon the world will find itself pondered upon by critical scales. On that note, we’ll explore the further twists and turns that the alternate 1980s have to offer as we tackle “Watchmen: Chapter II”.
As always, this list is subject to change. While we make our way to the end of the year, may we all make the choices and take the various actions that ultimately will help our world a whole less hectic as well as a lot more wholesome for all to share. As we strive for that better tomorrow, may you stay safe and I’ll see you around the C-Cubed!
